dj, author and all-round hero g the p has been setting rumps shaking across london and beyond for well over 5 years. those with long memories might recall his part in the its bigger than parties at 93 feet east (along with our sam back when he was still going by the name of deven miles). a classic digger, gav has an abiding love for old records especially rockabilly, jive, rock'n'roll, jump blues and soul and a knack in his sets for making the tunes sound as fresh and vital as the day they were first pressed onto his beloved 7" vinyl.

his wonderful get involved club at the social mixed blistering dj sets sets with audience participation when tambourines, maracas and various other musical instruments were handed out. it has recently ended as a monthly concern but still will be making sporadic appearances at festivals and other venues. check the website for update and stop buy at his wonderful blog to sample some of his old gold.

londoner's can still get their fix of g the p up in highgate at the glorious gerry's joint where he teams up with roo walton and its bigger than alumni leo the amateur and cutmaster max for a monthly jiving frenzy straight out of american graffiti. the next one is saturday the 21st march but until then feast on this brilliant mix that gav has donated to us. shut up, do it, get involved!
