we're pretty certain that by now you'll will have come into contact with the wonder that is heartbreak - the inimitable synth duo sebastian muravchik and ali renault. rocking an electronic pop disco sound that has rather marvelously been dubbed metallo their star is well in the ascendent and they may well have claimed the year as their own before the flowers start blooming.

their album, lies, which can be picked up here, was a late highlight of 2008 but even that comes second to their incedinary live shows. they are building on their success by remixing saint etienne, presets, mirwais and tommy sparks as well as producing for little boots. in may they set off on the nme radar tour (tickets of which can be bought here) in support of their single 'we're back' which comes backed with three new tracks, a vitalic remix and a remix of their 'soul transplant' by none other than allez-allez which you can sample here. needless to say we'll keep you informed of release dates on that one.

if that wasn't enough they've found time to do this grand new mix for us. take off your hats for the hardest working duo in synth business.

burzum - rundgang um del transzendentale saule der singularitat
y.a.s./ mirwais - get it right (heartbreak's heart of q mix)
den haan - theme from den haan
human league - things that dreams are made of (league unlimited
orchestra remake)
transvolta - disco computer
the revolving eyes - naked run
mark du mosch - kolossus
matzo & pauli - we are
nightmoves - transdance
ghecko - firelight
amplified orchestra - solitude
brassica - illness from awareness
duracel - hole in the head

after all the doom and gloom about the demise of london clubbing after the closure of so many venues last year its pretty heartening to see that the scene - for want of a better word - is more resilient than the doomsayers predicted.

one of the most exciting projects rising is we fear silence, the new regular night from former bookers for the end, ajay and ryan. taking over the brilliant arches venue in london bridge they are providing a new home for end stalwarts like chew the fat and this friday buzzin' fly.

fly label head ben watt takes over the impressive main room (which sports a brand new soundsystem) for an all night set. with a host of names including tim green, mlle caro, chris woodward and joe 90 taking charge in the other equally impressive rooms it set to be a fitting start to what sure to be a weekly destination when we fear silence goes weekly mid april. we're very happy to annouce that we'll be involved at the next buzzin fly night on may the 1st. exciting times.
